OBITUARIES
JOHN McPARTLAND
John McPARTLAND died yesterday in a local hospital. He was born in
Brooklyn 59th. years ago, a son of James and Mary WATERS McRARTLAND. He had
been a resident of Flatbush for many years. He was a teamster. He is survived
by a brother Peter McPARTLAND, and a sister, Mary McPARTLAND, and an uncle
Waters. The funeral will be held from the funeral chapel, 80 Harrison pl., at
10 A.M. tomorrow, with a requiem mass at the R. C. Church of Our Lady of
Sorrows, Morgan ave. Interment will be at St John's cemetery, under direction
of Frank DARMSTADT Sons, 80 Harrison pl.
JAMES VINCENZO GROSS
James Vincenzo Gross, a well known bootblack and hat cleaner in the
Borough Hall section since 1881, died yesterday at his home, 123 Kings
Highway, corner of West 9th. st. he was born in Italy in July 1855and has
been a resident of brooklyn for 55 years. He was a member of Congrega Assunia
Di Pierno of Mutual Aid. He is survived by his widow Angela; 5 daughters,
Mrs. Mamie DONARUMMO, Mrs. Rose RADICE, Mrs. Antinette CAGE, Mrs. Catherine
FALLS and Lucy Gross; 13 grandchildren and 1 sister, Mrs. Catherine
SILVESTRO. The funeral will be held at 9 A.M. friday with a requiem mass at
the R.C. Church St. Paul, Court and Congress sts., at 10 A.M. Interment will
be at Holy Cross cemetery under the direction of Emilio TARI and Sons, 2052
East 17th. st., East Flatbush.
