OBITUARIES
JOSEPH F. SMID
Joseph F. SMID, a baker, died Tuesday at Unity Hospital. He was born
in Bohemia, March 4, 1864, and had been a resident of Brooklyn 36 years. He
is survived by one son Joseph Jr.; 5 daughters Barbara FLITCROFT, Mrs. Bertha
HOMMEL, Mrs. Rose FLUHR, Mildred and Helen SMID, and one grandchild. Funeral
services at his late home, 2 Charlotte st., Ridgewood, the Rev. Adam KLOEPFEL
of the Metropolitan Protestant Church will officiate. Interment will be at
Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Charles MORTON, of 578 Onderdonk
ave.
MARIETTA WINTERS
Marietta WINTERS died yesterday. She was born in Greenville Orange
County N.Y., an has been a resident of Bay Ridge for 20 years. The funeral
service will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Sherman, 630
75th. st., at 8 P.M. tomorrow. The Rev. A.A. BOUTON, of the Bay Ridge M. E.
Church will officiate. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery,
Rutherford N.J., under the direction of George HARRIS. She is also survived
also by 2 sons, Roy and Fred WINTERS.
ANNA GILLESPIE
Anna GILLESPIE died Tuesday at her home, 8738 86th. st., Woodhaven.
She was born In County Cork Ireland, and has been in this country for the
past 40 years. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. J. RYAN and Mrs. G.
SULLIVAN and 3 grandchildren. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle
Church. The funeral will be held from her home, Friday at 9:30, thence to St.
Thomas the Apostle Church, 87th. st. and 88th. ave., wher a solemn requiem
mass will be celebrated. Interment at Holy Cross cemetery under the direction
of Joseph J. GALLIGAN, 284 Willoughby ave.
