DR. A. FRANCIS BRIGGS DIES IN LONG ISLAND CITY
Dr. A. Francis BRIGGS, 48 years old, for 20 years a practicing
physician in L.I.C. Queens, died yesterday at his home, 602 Wolcott ave.
L.I.C. He was born in Brooklyn, received his medical degree from the Long
Island College Hospital and soon established himself in L.I.C. His wife died
a few months ago. A daughter Margarite and a son Walter survive. Funeral
services will be held Monday at 9:30 A.M. with a mass at the Church of the
Immaculate Conception, and buriel at St. John's Cemetery.
PROF. J. S. JOANNES DIES IN HOME IN FRANCE
Prof. Jules Serge JOANNES, formerly teacher of music at Girl's High
School, died on May 9, at le Perreux-on-the-Marne, France, according to word
received in Brooklyn today.
Prof. JOANNES who retired from Girl's H.S. about 8 years ago because
of ill health compiled "The Song Garland" which is still in use at the H.S.

on Monday May 28, at 9: A.M thence to Holy Cross R.C. Church where a solemn
requiem mass will be offered. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
COLVILL On Friday, May 24, David COLVILLE, husband of Jessie MacGREGOR
COLVILLE, father of John, William, Bella and Jessie. Funeral services will be
held at his late residence , 2843 Batchelder st., Sheepshead Bay. Services on
Sunday evening at 8 o'clock. Interment at hewlett Cemertery, Monday, May 28,
at 1 P.M.
GARRAHAN--John J. GARRAHAN, on Friday, at the home of his daughter Catherine
E. JOHNSTON, 1776 West 7 st. He is also survived by 1 son, James J. Funeral
9:30 Monday. Requiem mass celebrated at SS. Simon and Jude R.C. Church.
Interment Calvery Cemetery.
KING--James W. on May 25, 1928, at his residence, 412 East 21 st., Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife and daughters, Grace, Mabel, and Lillian H.
STRNCK, and son James L. KING. Funeral services at his late residence on
Monday morning May 28, 8 o'clock. Interment private.
SEISSENSCHMIDT--On May 25, at her home, 8841 78 st., Woodhaven, Anna C., aged
55 years, beloved mother of AnnaC., August F. and Chris H. Services at her
home on Sunday, May 27, at 3 P.M. Interment Monday, 2 P.M., Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.
RUOFF--Annie M., beloved daughter of frederick and siter of george and John
on May 25, at her home, 61 Stuyvesant ave., Brooklyn. Funeral services on
Monday 2:30 from Funeral Chapel of J.P. Eldridge, 7711 Jamaica ave.,
Woodhaven. Interment Cedar Grove cemetery.
O'MALLEY--On May 25, at St. Catherine's Hospital, Henry O'MALLEY. Remains at
John T. GALLAGHER's Funeral Parlors, 204 Bedford ave. Notice of funeral to
follow.
