OBITUARIES
Leonard E. DEITZ died yesterday at his home, 2152 Hendrickson st. He was born
in Brooklyn 22 years ago and was employed by the National Surety Co. Maiden
Ln. office. He was the son of Minnie and the late Eugene B. LIETZ, brother of
mrs. Mildred R. BURKHARDT, Eugene B. DIETZ and Alfred J. BERMAS. Services
will be conducted at his home by the Rev. H.C. WHITNEY tomorrow at 2:30 P.M.
Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mary PURIVS, born in Brooklyn the daughter of the late Thomas and Christine
PURIVS, died yesterday at her home, 811 East 35 st. Near Glenwood rd. She was
a member of the Vandervere Park M.E. Church. Funeral services will be held by
the Rev. Pastor NEWMAN at her residence, 811 East 35 st., tomorrow at 2:30
P.M. She is survived by one sister , Mrs. T.A. SNOW. Interment will be at
Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of William DUNIGAN & Son, Rogers ave
and Montgomery st.
George PFEFFER of 43 Goodwin pl., died Thursday at a local hospital. He was
born in Germany 75 years ago and lived in Brooklyn 45 years. He is survived
by his widow Ernestina PFEFFER, 2 sons, Adam and Henry, and 1 daughter Nettie
REACH. Funeral services at the funeral chapel, 856 Forest ave., tomorrow at 2
P.M. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under direstion of W. Theodore LUTZ &
Son, 856 Forest ave., Ridgewood.
Eliza FLYNN, of 1856 Putnam ave., died Thursday. She was born in Brooklyn 78
years ago and was a member of St. Matthias Church, where a requiem mass will
be celebrated Monday at 9 A.M. Interment will be in the family plot, St.
Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton, Staten Island, under the direction of Peter
GEIS, of 88 Catalpa ave., Ridgewood.
Henrietta KENNEDY, widow of Thomas H. KENNEDY, died Thursday at her home, 471
8 st. She was 70 years old and lived in Brooklyn all her life. For many years
her husband was in business in the old 6 ward of Brooklyn and at his death,
about 2 years, his widow removed to Park Slope. She is survived by 2
daughters, Mrs. John H. BUCK and Mrs. Johnson S. CRENEY. The funeral will
take place Monday at 10 A.M., from St. Saviour's R.C. Church, 8 ave. and 6
st., where a solemn requiem mass will be offered.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 P.M. for Emily KELLY, who died
yesterday at her home, 7842 76 st. (Sprague st), Glendale. She was born in
N.Y.C. about 55 years ago. She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Thomas FUSCO,
and 4 sons, William, Robert, Alfred, and Walter KELLY, and a sister Mrs.
Peter WINKLER. Interment will follow at Evergreen cemetery under direction of
William BIERMANN, 226 Wilson ave.
James F. MORRISSEY died yesterday at his home, 71 Hanover ave., Princes Bay,
Staten Island. He was born in the old 12 ward of Brooklyn and a charter
member of Our Lady of Loretta Council, K.of C. He is survived by his widow
Honora, 2 sons Frank and James Jr., 2 daughters, Grace and Mary, a brother
Michael MORISSEY and a sister Mrs. Ellen McMAHON. The funeral will be held at
10 A.M. Tuesday with a requiem mass at the R.C. Church of Our Lady of Star of
Sea. Hugenot Park, Staten Island. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery,
sStaten island.
John J. COLLIGAN, of 141 East 35 st., died yesterday. He was born in
Manhatten and had been a resident of Flatbush for 40 years. He was a retired
B.R.T. motorman.
He is survived by his widow Mary, 3 sons, Joseph, John and James COLLIGAN, 3
daughters, Mrs. H. PEROCHEAU, Mrs. T. DEMPSEY and Florence COLLIGAN, 2
sisters Mrs. A. TULLY and Mrs. T. LENNON. The funreral will be held at 9:30
A.M. Monday with a requiem mass at the R.C. Church of the Holy Cross.
Interment will be at Hool Cross Cemetery under the direction of L.S.
Sheridan, 140 Rogers ave.
George YOUNG died Wednesday. He was born in Nova Scotia 24 years ago and has
been a resident of Brooklyn for the past 2 years. He was a member of the
Marine Painters' Union, Local 679. The funeral will be held at 2 P.M.
tomorrow from the funeral chapel of Joseph REDMOND, 90 King st. and interment
will be at Linden Hill Cemetery.
Anna Theresa BROMAN, born Sept. 8, 1869, in Stockholm, Sweden and a resident
of brooklyn for the past 39 years, died yesterday at her home, 149 South
Portland ave. She leaves a brother Fred, here, and a sister, Mrs. George
WOOD, of Riverton Conn. Funeral services will be held at ERICSON & ERICSON'S
State Street Chapel, 500 State st., tomorrow at 10 A.M. by the Rev. Albert
JOHANSON, pastor of the Pilgrim Swedish Congregational Church, 417 Atlantic
ave., officating Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
