Brooklyn Standard Union July 9, 1929 – Deaths
SWEENEY – Nellie A., widow of James Sweeney, died Sunday at the home of
her son, James SWEENEY, 475 Fourth avenue. She was born in New York
City and was a resident of Brooklyn for many years. She is survived by
her son, James and three daughters, Mrs. Benjamin WITT, Mrs. Oscar F.
ZAHN and Mrs. Daniel MCCORY. Funeral Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. from her
late home; thence to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a solemn mass of
requiem will be celebrated. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
WHITE – Charles A., a stionary (stationary?) engineer and a resident of
Brooklyn for fifty years, died Sunday in his seventy-eighth year, at his
home 596 Leonard street. He was born in New York City and was a member
of the Union Baptist Church of Greenpoint. He is survived by his widow,
Helen A. WHITE, and a daughter, Mrs. Mac BALDWIN. The funeral services
will be held at 8 o’clock to-night at his late home. Interment at 2
P.M. to-morrow will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery under direction of
the Bock Funeral Directors, 122 Meseroic avenue.
WOLMAN – Jacob, of 611 Crown street, died to-day. He was born in
Brooklyn twenty years ago and is survived by his father, Simon; his
mother, Ester, and two brothers, Norman and Tobias WOLMAN. The funeral
will be held at 1:30 P.M. to-morrow from the Jewish Memorial Chapel,
1406 Pitkin avenue. Interment will be at the family plot in Montefiore
Cemetery, Springfield.
