GLENDALE CLERK COMMITS SUICIDE
Charles A. MISCHLER, 29, a clerk living with his mother, Mrs. Anna MISCHLER,
at 69-21 Sixty-second street, Glendale, early today shot himself in the left
temple in the rear of the home of his brother, patrolman Philip MISCHLER, of
Brooklyn Police Headquarters.
Patrolman MISCHLER, who lives at 150-08 147th avenue, South Ozone Park, heard
the report in the garage behind his home and found his brother lying on the
floor with his revolver in his hand. The man was declared dead on the arrival
of Dr. SALMOWITZ, of Jamaica Hospital. Charles had been despondent over ill
health for some time, his brother said.

DESPONDENT EMPLOYE HANGS SELF ON JOB
Louis SALASHITZ, 48, of 455 East Houston street, Manhattan, early today
hanged himself with a length of rope attached to a rafter on the top floor of
the Broadway Pillow Company, 17 Broadway, where he was employed, according to
police of Bedford avenue. SALASHITZ, police say, jumped from a packing box.
He was found by a relative, Benjamin TUCKER, of 935 East Fifty-sixth street,
Manhattan. The dead man, police say, had been despondent for some time.
