AGED MAN IS KILLED; EIGHT ARE INJURED IN AUTO ACCIDENTS
Daniel McMAHON, 80, Run Down by Car, Dies in Hospital
Daniel McMAHON, 80, 318 Eighty-fifty street, while crossing Fort Hamilton
Parkway near Eighty-fourth street, was struck by an automobile driven by
Charles KARLSON, of 437 Marion avenue. He was rushed to Harbor Hospital
suffering a fracture of the skull and internal injuries and died one hour
later. The driver of the machine was held on a technical charge of homicide.
Four Hurt in Crash
A collision between a taxicab and a touring car resulted in the injury of
four persons early today. After treatment all went home.
Thomas MULDOON, 25, 372 Linden boulevard, passenger in the taxi driven by
Benjamin KESSLER, 31, 325 Wallabout street, and KESSLER sustained slight
lacerations when the cab was in collision at Utica avenue and Rutland road,
with a machine driven by James MACH, 26, 83 Rochester avenue. William PERRY,
24, 83 Rochester avenue, a passenger in MACHs machine, also suffered slight
Patrolman Thomas G. ABBEY, 29, 7925 Memorial street, Middle Village,
attached to Motorcycle Squad 2, while on duty operating a department
motorcycle, was in collision with an automobile driven by Charles VATTIATIO,
211 Suydam street, at Atlantic and Buffalo avenues. The patrolman remained on
duty after treatment for lacerations of the left leg. The driver of the
machine was served with a summons.
Little Child Hurt
Morbin ROSENTHAL, 3, 619 Willoughby avenue, while crossing Vernon avenue
near Tompkins avenue, was struck by an automobile driven by John Van DUKEN, of
190-05 Jamaica avenue. The child was attended and taken to St. Johns Hospital
suffering a possible fracture of the skull.
Unknown Woman Badly Hurt
Crossing Stillwell avenue near Bay Eighty-fifth street, Rosalie BIGINO, 50,
address unknown was struck by an automobile driven by Dominick ROSSITTO of 98
Bay Thirty-seventh street. She was removed to Coney Island Hospital suffering
a possible fracture of the skull.
May be Internally Injured
Nathan WEISENFELD, 50, of 242 Powell street, was struck by an automobile
driven by Samuel SCHALL of 281 Rockaway parkway while crossing roadway at
Dumont and Rockaway avenues. He was taken home after treatment for lacerations
and possible internal injuries.
