MAN IS KILLED, FOUR HURT BY AUTOMOBILES
Unidentified Victim Thought to Be Charles Anderson-Boy Near Death
An unidentified man was killed, a boy is near death and three other
persons were injured in auto accidents last night and early this morning.
Unidentified Man Killed
An unidentified man died at Methodist Episcopal Hospital from injuries
received when he was struck by an automobile at Third avenue and Seventh
street early today. Police of the Fifth avenue station, who describe the man
as 55 years old, 5 feet 9 inches in height, weighing about 125 pounds, say
the man might be Charles ANDERSON. A card bearing this name issued in March
of this year from the Brooklyn State Hospital was found in his possession.
The dead man was crossing the roadway at Third Avenue when he was struck by
the machine, which was driven by Frank Clyde ARNOLT of 160-81 St. Ott
avenue. The man was rushed to the hospital where he died shortly after.
Detectives of the Fourth avenue station are investigating.
Man Hurt in Crash
Benjamin SHERMAN, 20, 693 Stone avenue, went to Coney Island Hospital
suffering possible internal injuries and lacerations, which he sustained
while riding in an automobile driven by Morris BRUMAN of 52 Watkins street.
At Kings Highway and Bedford avenue their car collided with another machine
driven by John GENDLER of 2622 Avenue P. The injured man was taken to the
institution for examination.
Boy Dying After Accident
Edward WEGL, 12, 575 Third avenue, while passing the roadway at Third
avenue near Twenty-third street, was struck by an automobile driven by
Alexander EPSTEIN of 216 Eleventh avenue. The boy was rushed to Norwegian
Hospital suffering a fracture of the skull and a crushed chest. Physicians
at the hospital held little hope for his recovery.
Boy Run Down by Car
Edward KAPLAN, 11, 136 Junius street, was removed to Brownsville and East
New York Hospital suffering a fracture of the left leg, which he sustained
when he was struck by an automobile driven by Archie EPSTEIN of 1203 Adams
street, Toledo, Ohio. The boy was crossing the roadway at Glenmore avenue
near Junius street at the time he was struck.
Two Cars Collide
Albert PRISIRO, 10, 119 North street, South Boston, Mass., suffered
lacerations while riding in an automobile driven by Giovano ??LANDO of 121
Bay Seventeenth street, when their machine collided with another driven by
Charles ?RIEDMAN of 1967 Seventy-first street
