The German Genealogy Group will hold its next monthly meeting one week later
than normal on Thursday, May 13th at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, The Family History Center at 160 Washington Avenue,
Plainview, New York.

Richard Haberstroh CG, will give his presentation, “Finding the Ancestral
Home and Obtaining Records from Germany”.

An orientation session for beginners and newcomers will be held at 7 PM and
the regular meeting will start at 7:30. There is no fee for guests and all
are welcome.

Among the many benefits of membership are a newsletter published ten times a
year, a database of surnames, a translation service, a lending library,
interesting guest speakers at the meetings, mentoring and a start up kit of
helpful information. We welcome all who are interested in researching their
Germanic origins.

Visit our web site at http://www.GermanGenealogyGroup.com/ and while there,
be sure and check the church databases. They are St. Leonard's and Our Lady
of Sorrows, two defunct churches which were located in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
The databases are an index of every name found within the baptism, marriage
and First Communion church books.
