Ward,
I filled out the long form in 1980. Boy was it LONG!!!! I was in college
at the time, so both myself and my roommate had to fill out stuff on the
same form (different places for each respondent fortunately). I know that
I had to fill out information regarding my parents and each of my siblings
that year, even though they weren't living in the same place as me (that
part should be helpful for future generations, at least for the folks who
had to fill out the long form).
That census form in 1980 was the first census form I had ever seen (wasn't
into genealogy until 16 years later), and silly me, I thought they were
ALL like that. Since then the census forms that I have filled out have
seemed puny by comparison.
