Hi Sheila,

Just an FYI that my EX's grandfather in Brooklyn was also a .. John
McCARTHY. This is only a part-time search for me (for obvious reasons).
What I have found out so far was that he was widowed when his two daughters,
Mary and Eleanor, were approx. 10 years old. I believe he might have
finished raising them himself, but I'm not sure. I also think that both
Mary McCARTHY and Eleanor McCARTHY married young (1930's?). (And,
married "the wrong man.") Plus, neither sister lived to see "their
senior years."

Betty (near Lowell, MA)
