On 2/1/05 (11:56:45 AM MST), June () asked,
"Has anyone sent for a dna test? As I understand it the y is the direct line
just for the male. Male to male to male does not include mothers. The mt is
the woman's direct line, woman to woman & does not include fathers. The y & mt
includes both but only male to male to male & then female to female to female.
So for my husband it would be his father his father's father down the male
line. I wouldn't find out his father's mother. Am I correct?"
You can read all about it at:
http://www.familytreedna.com/
Please note: I'm not related to Bennett Greenspan, the head man at
www.familytreedna.com, and our respective dna does not suggest and family relationship,
either.
I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting.
Happy Chanukah,
Walter Greenspan
