I am seeking information about Robert, Thomas and James Forster who
were brothers. They left the Stockton-on-Tees area of County Durham in
the early 1850's and settled in New York City, when they would be
probably in their thirties. From old family letters I know that in
1859 Thomas Forster had a store in Fulton Street, New York City and
Robert and James (with wife Elizabeth) lived nearby. I am new to New
York Research and I am not sure in which borough Fulton Street would be.

A sister of the above men, Jane, was married to a William Heron. They
also emigrated with their family (William, James, Isabella, and Sarah)
from Darlington, Co. Durham, England in 1851 and lived at South 6th
Street, Williamsburgh. William Heron had a store, and I think the
family lived there for many years. They belonged to the Baptist
Church.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone could do a directory or census
look-up for the above, or point the way to further research for me.
Any information would be very much appreciated, and I am willing to
cover any costs incurred.
