Hello:
I am doing research into the genealogical history of one James McInrue.
James was born in Ireland in 1801. He married Bridget Masters (date
unknown) who was born in Ireland in 1811. James and Bridget migrated to
Canada around 1830, we know this as all of his nine children were born
in Canada, the first in 1831.
We know that his family spread out to other locations mostly to the US
it is believed.
Some earlier research has revealed that a Patrick McInrue was in the
1860 NY census.
Mcinrue, Patrick. 1860 NY
County : New York co.
Location : 9 W. Nyc Div. 1
year 1860 :
Page # : 839
Patrick was born in 1837 so if this Patrick is James son it would put
him at about 23 in 1860.
The same search that discovered Patrick also listed a Beatrice and Frank
McInrue as follows:
Beatrice McInrue, born April 11, 1904, died August 1980, zip 10456 i.e.
Bronx NY
Frank McInrue, born March 1890, died August 1970, zip 10467 i.e. Bronx
NY
It might be assumed that they were married but in genealogy you can
assume nothing.
I am seeking obituaries on Beatrice and Frank so that I can determine
if they had any children that might still be around so that I could
contact them or their families to check on the relationship to me and
other McInrues around North America.
I am not familiar with the Bronx so I dont have any idea of the
newspapers that would be available to research the obituaries or any
other pertinent information.
One item we do know is that the name is not that common.
James and Bridget were illiterate so the spelling of the name has
changed slightly with each census that occurred starting in 1841.
I am hoping that Patrick is the one I believe him to be and that the two
others are descendants from him and that this will lead to much more
information on this branch of the family.
Any information that can be learned on Patrick would be welcome as well
as the two other McInrue names as above.
Thank You :
