For NYC catholic churches, check the NYCity GenWeb page at:

http://www.tnp.com/nycgenweb/

You'll find a link to a list of RC churches, along with when they were
founded, addresses, and telephone numbers. But you'll find that records
are not centralized and each church charges for research.
