June and all,
wow, I posted that and took a dinner break and came back to nearly 20
messages asking where I got it from and what did it mean, so here is
one answer for everyone with ALL I KNOW 8-)

I first saw an update info on the roots l list for the new IGI about 3
weeks ago from a woman in Indiana whose FHC got an early copy to "test"
and was asking people to send her names of "impossibles" that were
definitely not on the current discs. So I sent her my McCarthy and Gough
names in Tipperary, and lo and behold she got back to me in a few days
and there are lots of them, where before there were none. She said she
was finding many of the new info was on British Isles, but that was just
her opinion.

So I told my director at the FHC where I also volunteer and when they
went to Atalanta this weekend to go to the temple she asked and was told
yes, the new IGI was shipped and will be here shortly. They were not
sure if it was a whole new set or just an addendum, as in 1994

Today there was a notice posted to the roots l list and my IrelandGenWeb
list (which is great by the way for anyone who wants a nice calm Irish
list) by a woman named RootsTracer who called SLC and confirmed it and
found out all the other stuff was on its way. I think it has also been
posted on the new LDS-Genealogy mail list (which I do not subscribe to),
so it is TRUE.

I do not know what US Census CDs mean, but I would guess it may be the
FTM series as our FHC has the Land Records one from them, provided by
SLC I believe. I would not get all excited about having actual census
films with lots of info to search., probably just an index.
And as to when overseas will get it, well, I don't know, but I would
think soon also, as they are sending them to everyone.

I would send the actual message to the list but I cannot cut and paste
with webtv , and that is copied word by word.

Hope this explains the how and what.....
