Judi,

There are two places to look for the naturalization records for
MEERBOTT. Both of these will necessitate a trip to the FHC and ordering
one or two films.

To begin with the soundex code for MEERBOTT is M613. You stated you
could not find him in the soundex. Was this the census soundex or the
naturalization soundex?

If it was NOT the naturalization soundex you should order microfilm
number 1437689. This is the film with MEERBOTT M613. If he is located on
this film it will tell you the court where the naturalization took
place. You can than order the correct microfilm and get the petition.

A second source is to send for microfilm number 1002357. This is an
alpha list of naturalizations in NY. It will also give you the court.

All this information IS at the FHC. It is listed in the Library Catalog,
NEW YORK microfiches #0008 and #0010.
