I was misunderstood when I asked my question about the Shot Tower of the
1840s. I have an old diary that continually refers to it.
A SHOT TOWER is a structure used to make small shot for firearms. Melted lead
was pored through a vessel at the top. The tower had holes in it and as each
piece of lead dropped it formed a round ball........making the "shot".
I want to know where it was located...maybe at the Battery?
