This CD helped me find my Buchanans in 1849. It lists everyone by name
and they give a family number. So if you know the head of the family's
name and don't know the rest, just look through the surname and the
family number connected. I found James,Janet,Margaret,Mary,Martha(my
ggrandmother)and Thomas Buchanan. It also answered another puzzle for me
as the gggrandmother buried in my FIRTH family plot is Jesse Buchanan.
In the 1855 census the wife is Janet like the passenger list. Well I do
not believe Janet was Jesse, so I have another wife in here I think.
Also this Janet was 24 on the ship and 30 in the census. James got
younger. He was 48 on the ship and 45 on the 1855 census.

All comments welcome.
