As I look over the marriage certificates of my family from 1860 to 1880,
all of the marriages were performed by Philip Merkle, a clergyman living
at 422 E. 51st St. Could someone please tell me how I can find out what
religion (I'm guessing Lutheran), and what church he may have been
associated with.
