Hi Guys,
It's at least been a week or two since I've asked for some of your incredible
knowledge, so... My grandpa (Louis Felder) was born in Lisko, Galicia,
Poland, August 15, 1889, and emigrated from Antwerp, Belgium in 1905. At
least that's what his Petition for Naturalization states. I received them
today after sending for them on March 20th. I found my g-grandmother (Louis'
mother) Rosa Felder, from Baligrod, Galicia, but did not find Louis. Again,
I realize this is going to sound stupid, but...I can't find my "Louis Felder"
from Austria? Galicia? Poland? All I know is he was the best grampa, always
pinching the hell out of my little chubby cheeks. Anyway, I never thought to
ask him questions when I was younger, but do remember him saying that he was
from Austria. As I got older, family said he was from Galicia, Lemberg,
Austria. Who knows? My question, finally, is/was Lisko in Poland or Austria?
Don't know if this makes a difference but my family is Jewish.
Thanks for listening to the ravings of a genealogy nut case.
Nancee
