Besides the federal censuses taken in years ending in zero, there are also state censuses.
Many New York state censuses survive. See the chart at http://www.nygbs.org/info/articles/NYGB_NYS_census.html to see which ones the NYGBS has on microfilm.
Read about any indexes or other types of finding aids at the NYGBS at http://www.nygbs.org/info/articles/NYS_census_finding_aids.html.
