Date: Wed, 01 Oct 2003 22:22:44 -0400

The German Genealogy Group will hold its next monthly meeting on
Thursday, October 2nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints,
160 Washington Avenue, Plainview, New York.
The program, "German Resources in the Patchogue-Medford Library"
will be given by Toni Raptis.
An orientation session for beginners and newcomers will be held
at 7 PM
and the regular meeting will start at 7:30 PM.

Among the many benefits of membership are a newsletter published
ten times a year, a database of surnames, a translation service,
a lending library, mentoring, a start-up kit of helpful
information and interesting guest speakers at the meetings.

We welcome all who are interested in researching their Germanic
origins.
There is no fee for guests.

Visit our site at http://www.GermanGenealogyGroup.com/

While there, please be sure to check the searchable databases for
the church records of
St. Leonard's and Our Lady of Sorrows, two Roman Catholic
churches
which were located in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY. You will find a
searchable index to
baptism, marriage and First Communion records.
