Dear Pat and ALL at NYC-L,
Pat, I respect your viewpoint as well as your many contributions to the NYC
list. Personally, I wish you would reconsider sitting in on this list.
I think the quality of this list has diminished during the stress of the
holidays. To simplify it: feelings have been hurt, egos wounded, and intelligence
assaulted. At times, some more experienced folks seemed
impatient with simple, repetitive questions. At times I felt there was a
condescending tone in responses. And other times, it appeared that some folks
reacted to anyone being humorous or silly.
Please ALL, let's face it: No one is making a living from this list. We are
here to share our strengths and ask for assistance with our genealogical
weaknesses.
Carol, Pat, Russell, Walter, Jim, Noelle, Lucy, Charles, EVERYONE... can't we
come up with some basic tenets to revamp this list and make it work? The
positive that has come from this list is too great to be lost over exaggerated
misunderstandings.
Sincerely,
Barbara
