On 1/13/04 (7:57:51 AM MST), Steve Gould () asked,

"My Ggrandparents Reuben amd Kate Goldstein and family moved to New York from
Lithuania (via a 20 year stopover in Sheffield England) between 1908 and
1913. Their first address was 175 E 105th St - is that called the Lower East
side?? Other addresses were in 1920 667 Fox St and 883 E 176 St in 1927."

Ain't the Lower East Side.

The address 175 East 105th Street is in the neighborhood of Harlem in upper
Manhattan (north of Central Park).

The address 1920 667 Fox Street is closer to the Lower East Side, but no
cigar, as it is in the neighborhood of city hall in lower Manhattan.

The address 883 East 176th Street is in the neighborhood of East Tremont in
the Bronx.

You might want put each of these addresses in www.mapquest.com to get a
better idea from the maps that will pop up.

I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting.
