Thanks alot Helen. That is what I wanted to klnow. I figured it probably would be "too easy" to just be able to use that number. I will look it up as I did the others and find the number that is needed.

Blessings,

Marilyn

Hello Marilyn,
Let me see if I can explain it.
The batch number does not help get the records. There are usually hundreds of records entered under a particular batch number. Look at the bottom on the right hand side to see where the "batch of records" came from. Type: If it says film then you will have to go to their library catalog and find the film by location, then what kind of record it is (vitals would have birth, death, and marriage records). You would have to order the film or see if someone else has access to the film to look for you. If you click on the batch number it will take you back out to IGI. If you want to see other names included in the batch, click on Search.

Hope I didn't confuse you too much.

Good Luck,
Helen

Hi List,

I have just gotten some pretty good information from the Familysearch.com site. on some individual ancestors. Could someone tell me if the numbers on the bottom left hand side of some of the records are those needed and used to get the records. I am now filling out the form for some copies for certificates, etc. that I already have gotten the cert. numbers for. However, can I also get the certificates, after finding the "BATCH NUMBERs" that I got from the IGI INDIVIDUAL RECORD????? .

If so, is that all I have to do to get the certificate? I found two ancestors marriage records. It gives the marriage date and the county where it was listed and onthe bottom is the "batch number". It does not say film number (is that the same) or certificate number.?? Could someone tell me the difference and if there is something else I need to do to get the certificate, if anything. Hope that I have not confused anyone with this question. It was sort of hard to try and explain.

Thanks alot all you smart people out there !!

Blessings,

Marilyn
