Subject: Reliablity of FHL individual IGI forms

Dear List,

I have another question for all you knowledgable people out there. Sometime ago I got some information from someone and then on my own I found my grandparent's marriage record supposedly from the FHL , familysearch site, the IGI individual record..

It said that they married on April 9, 1891 in Cuyahoga, Ohio & even had the batch number and all that. Well, I got excited and thought that might be a sure thing for getting both their marriage certs and then hopefully their birth certs since I do not havae complete dates on either of my grandparents.

Well another KS gave me a great website for marriages from Cuyahoga county in Cleveland, Ohio. Well, of course, I checked out the great site and they were NOT on it and I triied all kinds of ways to possibly access the information . Well forget it, I guess I will have to send in a form withmoney for a search to see if they have it either there in that county or another one perhaps. I am thinking maybe there was an error somewhere.

Has anyone had any kind of similar thing happen to them and what do you suggest? Someone I know who also does genealogy here where I live says that sometimes there info is not that accurate. Of course I have been trying to verify what I find but that is not always very easy with my luck.

Thanks for listening !

Marilyn
