Jaaziel L. Roberts, born 1822 in Cayuga County (Locke?), was my gg grandfather. His father was Seth Roberts. Can anyone out there solve this mystery for me? Clarissa Roberts, wife of Seth, and 3 children are buried in Cantine Cemetery, town of Locke. There may have been 2 other brothers, Johoida and Jehiel. Are these 2 and Jaaziel also children of Seth and Clarissa? or was there another Seth Roberts in Locke township? Clarissa died in 1844. I found a birth record for a daughter Esther Sopronia born in 1847 to a Seth and Eunice Roberts.... This would work, if Clarissa died in 1844 and Seth remarried. I found Eunice in 1860 living with a brother Jesse Cole and she was labeled as "insane hereditary". Esther Sopronia was not with her... In 1860 she would have been 12 or 13. There was an Arminta, age 14 and Emaline age 13 both Roberts, living with Norton and Julia Stout. There was also an Electa age 11, living with Josiah (this is Jaaziel) and Adaline F. Roberts and their 3 year old daughter Sarah. This was my gg grandfather and gg grandmother. Could Emaline age 13 or Electa age 11 have been Esther, given up by her mother because of her insanity. Esther would have been Jaaziel's half sister.... In 1850 Seth was a laborer age 67 with a David Howel in Summer Hill. I was not able to find Seth after that. If anyone has any knowledge on this matter, or knows where to find more, please let me know.
