Excellent! Thank you! You filled in several blanks. My
grandfather's name was Arden Henry, so I see several
namesakes. According to familysearch.org, Ebenezer &
Mehitable Hathaway's children were: Jael(Joel?),
Candace, William, Jason, Maria, Mehitabel, David,
Arden, Lydia, Ebenezer and Lydia (noted twice).
Arden's marriage to your Elizabeth Rhoads explains
that name being added to the mix. My line is through
Candace who married Levi Clark (b. CT, parents
unknown). Famlysearch has Candace's death in 1860, but
there is a burial for Candace Clark (d.1834, age 33),
wife of Levi, in South Hill Cemetery, Tompkins Co, NY.
In 1850 census, Levi with 2nd wife and family were in
Tompkins Co, then in Cataraugus Co by 1860 census.
You mention Arden's son Arden Henry who I assume is
noted as Henry in the 1860 & 1870 censuses. Do you
know if Henry W. Hatheway in the 1880 Cayuga census is
Arden's son or someone else? I have found Henry
Hathaway also in the 1900, 1910, 1920 Cayuga
census--same Henry?
Was Ebenezer J. Hathaway the Rev. War vet?
Thanks very much for the information. As I continue to
digest it, I may have to get back to you again. (You
may already know this, but familysearch has the
Hatheways back thru Nicholas, Thomas, Thomas to Robert
(b.abt. 1500, Gloucestershire, Eng.)
