The following information is extracted from an extensive, but unpublished Roberts genealogy entitled "Forbears of Some Roberts Cousins" which was compiled by the late Mr. Elmer S. Smail.

Abner S. Roberts born 20 May 1818, Sheridan, NY; died 21 Dec 1898, Buffalo, NY.

Married, 1838, Sheridan, NY, to Mary Finette Haskin

Children:
Helen E. , born 1841, Sheridan, NY; died at age 10
Evelyn, born 1851, Sheridan, NY; died, 17 Nov 1933, Buffalo, NY
Henry Haskin, born July 18, 1963, Fredonia, NY. In 1934 he lived in Detroit, MI where he was the District Passenger Agent for the Lehigh Valley Railroad.

Abner's father, Benjamin Roberts, born 25 Nov 1771, East Hartford, CT; died 4 Mar 1836, Sheridan, NY, purchased Enoch Haskins' farm, which he traded in 1815 to a Mr. Pryor for a tavern/inn, later known as Roberts Corner. Benjamin operated this tavern/inn unitl his death, after which Abner took it over until 1848 when he moved to Dunkirk.

Enoch Haskin, born 5 May 1740; died March 1833, Pittstown, NY
Enoch Haskin, 23 July 1765, Norwich, CT; died 1837 Dayton, OH. Married Lydia Ackley. Lived in Bredport, VT and Pittstown, NY and served during the Revolutionary War
Enoch Haskin born 1788, Bredport, VT; died 1868, Winona, MN. Married Mary Wadsworth in Pittstown, NY. He left Pittstown, Rensselaer County, NY for Fredonia in 1818. He was the Postmaster at Orrington from 1824-1839.
