I obtained a copy of my Grandmother's DAR application dated 1922. She was Agnes Vosburgh Garner b. July, 1880 in Ghent, Columbia County NY. She was born on the Vosburgh/FredenburghFarm in Ghent, NY and it farm remained in the family until the 1930's or 40's.
Her parentage is Jeremiah Garner b. May14,1845 d. June 12, 1914 and Anna Fredenburgh Vosburgh b. February 11, 1841, d. January 1st, 1906, m. November 6, 1878.
Anna Fredenburgh Vosburgh's parentage was William P. Vosburgh, b. 1799,d. March 10, 1855 and Maria Fredenburgh, b. 1803, d. November 17, 1881, m. November 26,1826.
William Peter Vosburgh was the son of Peter Isaac Vosburgh, b. October 20, 1752, d. January 29, 1830 and Elizabeth Van Alstyne, b. October 1, 1762, d. April 3, 1856, m. October 17, 1784. Peter Isaac Vosburgh was born in Kinderhook, NY and died in Stuyversant, NY. He served as a Lieutenant in the Revolunary War. Commissioned February 1, 1777, 1st Lieut, 4th Company under Captain Van Rensselear, Col. James Livingston and retired in 1780 with rank of Captain.
Appointed Major Genral attached to Corp of General Lafayette-Officers and men were equipped at his own expense. Was an original member of the "Cincinnatti Society".
I am in search of any verifiable documentation showing lineage from Peter Isaac Vosburgh to his Son, William Peter Vosburgh, and hope I have supplied you some valuable information as well.
