I live in Calif. and have never been to Columbia Co.; I have just started researching my 1710 Palatine families and am going thru christening and marriage records in the early 1700s churches. I have a NY atlas and have photocopied Columbia Co. on a large sheet of paper. I would like to know the towns in which these old Ref Dutch Churches and Lutheran churches were (or still may be) located.

1. RDC Linlithgo. One Internet source says in the village of Livingston (not in the village of Linlithgo). Is that correct?

2. RDC Claverack. Where in Claverack township? In the village of Claverack?

3. Germantown Lutheran Church. Where in Germantown? My map shows Germantown to be a township with a village or town of Germantown and one called North Germantown near the river. Where in Germantown was the German Lutheran Church in the early1700s?

I have additional location questions regarding West Camp and East Camp 1710-1720. My atlas shows a village called West Camp on the west side of the Hudson, just south of the Greene Co.-Ulster Co. line. Was this "West Camp" where the Palatines lived ?

If not, where on today's NY map was West Camp?

Similar question for East Camp. Articles on the net say it was at "Germantown". My atlas shows a town/village of Germantown and a town/village of North Germantown, all within Germantown township. Can someone on the list clarify exactly where East Camp was where Palatines lived 1710-1720?

Many thanks,
Helen in Calif.
