Message Board Post:
My dad recently remarked that his grandfather had had a cabin cruiser or motorboat on the Hudson, probably registered in Hudson, before the stock market crash wiped him out in 1929. Has anyone looked for private boats in the 1920s, or does anyone have any idea where I would look for records?
......
I assume that if it was registered out of Hudson, that the city (or port), state, or the Coast Guard would have some sort of list of vessels, just in case they found it wrecked or washed up somewhere, so they would know who to notify. I've been searching the net, but haven't found anything in the mass of ship's passenger list hits, that is the correct kind of record for what I'm looking for.
