I am working on the family of Francis COULTER (1771-1846) and Nancy
GLENDENNING (d 1873). They were from Hawick, Scotland and settled in the
Town of Bovina. I am descended from their daughter Isabella COULTER
(1798-1879), who married John Armstrong. Their other children were
Elizabeth (b 1800), Agnes (b 1802), Walter (b 1804), Mary (b 1806), James (b
1808), Ellen (b 1810), David (b 1813) and William (b 1817). The Coulter
name was once very common in Bovina. I have had no luck tracing the family
in Scotland (I visited Hawick last September) and wondered if anyone had
more definitive information about this couple.
