Several of my ancestors were born and raised on a farm on Sands Creek, known
as the Seymour Homestead. It was occupied by Seymours for over 100 years -
up until the 1980s. Do any of you currently asking about Sands Creek have
any info on the Seymour family? The last owner of the farm was Edward
Seymour and his wife, Princess. He was son of Clarke M. Seymour, and
grandson of Edward Seymour, both of whom owned and operated this farm for
many years. I have an 1869 map of Delaware Co. on which residents names are
shown, including my great grandfather, Alonzo Seymour who lived on the Sands
Creek farm at the time. Glad to exchange information with anyone interested.
