Hi TerrinVA,
Thanks for your support of my idea about names, addresses, etc. I don't
think making it into a database that anyone can access is a good idea if
you include addresses. Many people to not want their addresses, phone
numbers, and other personal information broadcast on the net. My
suggestion was to limit that information only to attendees of the
Gathering.
The idea of having a database listing email addresses and surnames
researching is I think one that would fly. Perhaps some other
information would be acceptable, such as villages, or towns in Delaware
County where the individual once resided, names of schools attended in
Delaware County. I sent an email to Vesti Snyder with some specific
suggestions for the Gathering in this regard. I included some info on
myself as an example,
including some relatives I have in the area and it turned out that my
grandniece had worked for her in GrandGorge and my grandniece is now
teaching Vesti's daughter in Roxbury Central School.
Perhaps some others on the list will chip in with their ideas.
Terri I would be very happy to meet you as you suggest, however, I think
you would be a bit surprised. I am not the Russ Miller you described. My
father has been dead for more than 30 years and I am not researching
Beardsley. It is quite a coincidence if there are two Russ Millers
living in Northern Virginia and are from Delaware County, NY.
