Hello list,
Does anyone have knowledge (beyond that of the IGI ) of the Homer Root
Phelps' family of early Delhi? I'm specifically trying to connect Charles
Phelps, b. 1803 @ Glastonbury, CT w/this family. Charles only appears in the
1830 census in the Town of Hamden. However, a search of the earlier census
records for Delhi would seem to indicate a relationship due to the fact that
Homer Phelps lived next to the Samuel Robinson family in 1810 and 1820. By
1830 Homer is in Albany and Charles Phelps is now living next to Samuel
Robinson at what I presume to be the former residence of Homer R. Phelps.
Charles' burial record indicates that his parent's names were Charles and
Lucy, for whom I found no connection to any of the Phelps in Delaware Co.
either! I have to "assume" that there was some family connection between
Homer R. and Charles, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.
The Phelps genealogy by Phelps/Servin yields no clues. Would be most
appreciative for any leads.
