Hello All ...
In my continuing effort to keep the Delaware website easy to use, I just
gave the Welcome page and the Table of Contents page a little face-lift.
Delaware Seal is now on the 'about this website page'. On the Table of
Contents page, I have indented the links so it is much easier now to see
at a glance what we have online.
While I was at it, I checked a couple of the 'exterior' links and found
the URLs had evidently changed. Now they are working - the first one to
USGS Mapping Information. This link takes you to a very interesting list
of Delaware County Place Names (842 to be exact). In fact, the first
page has the name Barkaboom on it - a name that I saw cross my desktop
on the LIST recently. The second link that I updated is the one to the
New York State Historical Association at Cooperstown. They have a very
large research library, one that you might want to put on your list of
places to visit when you are on one of your research trips.
One of the reasons I put some photos from my PhotoGallery online was to
hopefully spark memories. A great one came in this morning from Allan
Davidson regarding one of the barn pictures. That little story can be
read on the Comments & Success page, and is also linked to from the
"First Person Histories" page. Would love to receive more stories
anytime!!! Actually, as I write, I can think of one of my own. In my
research, I discovered that a couple of my great-uncles built the stone
bridge at South Kortright.
