Hi List,
Found what I believe to be an unknown cemetery. It is on Woolheater
Road off Red Kill road in the Town of Middletown,Fleischmanns, New York.
I will call the cemetery The Woolheater Cemetery. It is in very poor
condition with all the headstones broken off and laying on the ground
for some time. They have begun to deteriorate and crumble. Very hard to
read, but here is what I was able to get as close as I can cypher them:
Elizabeth Avery, wife of, Isacher Woolheater, b. Aug. 8, 1804 d. Mar.
10, 1878.
Isacher Woolheater, b. Dec. 15, 1804 d. unreadable.
Susannah Robinson, wife of, John Woolheater, d. Sept. 18, 1855
71y-8m-23d.
(Mary)?? S. Woolheater b. Aug. 3, 1825 d. Feb. 5, 1860
Edward Smith b. Apr. 25, 180_?_ d. Mar. 10, 1876
His wife ( stone totally crumbling, only able to make out that it was
Ed's wife)
About 25 fieldstone markers as well.
I spoke with a life time resident and he had read these stones a couple
years back and he says he was able to read some of the hand carved
fieldstone's at that time and stated that they were mostly all of very
young children. I couldn't find any that were legible.
Roger
