Things get very screwy in NY when you get away from town centers. Sometimes the hamlets in NY cross town lines.
For instance, my mother-in-law lives in a hamlet called Appleton, which is in both the towns of Newfane and Somerset. She actually lives in Somerset with an Appleton address, and the post office for Appleton is across the Somerset line, in Newfane.
Here's another one: I live in an area called Wright's Corners, which also crosses town lines but doesn't have it's own post office. I have a Lockport address, but I'm actually in the town of Newfane, right on the border of the town of Lockport.
Confusing stuff, even for those who live here.
