I keep sending mail to individual people when I think I'm sending it to the

Thanks Annette and dlm....I found him. His name, just in case you ever run
across it anywhere else, is Kieran Hanamy. He was born in March of 1858,
married Bridget Malloy in Ulster County, and left her with their 4 children
in Saugerties. He is listed as single in the 1900 census.

How about giving the name of your ggfather, Jeanne, so someone with
the indexed '20 or '30 censuses could search for locations of the surname,
at least, to give you a running start.
