Stephen Hunt Question
I am attempting to find the parents of the Stephen Hunt listed in the 1850
census for Middletown, Delaware County, New York. He is shown to be 65
years old and born in New York (this would make his date of birth about
1785, and I believe he was dead by 1860. I have had it suggested to me that
his parents might be Daniel Hunt and Mary Burch, but have found that
information in only one source. His wife is listed as Catharine, 35 years
of age with children Mary Jane 14, James 12, Daniel 10, Sally (Sarah) 8,
Susan 4, and one child Lucinda who was born in 1850, but does not show in
this census, but does show up in the 1860 census for Neufield, Tompkins
County, New York. She is listed with her mother whose name by this time was
Dickson. In the 1865 census for Catharine, Schuyler County, New York she is
shown as Catharine Dickson, and states that she has been twice widowed. Any
suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks
