Hi,
In the "Raw Material's" book it shows that Lorenzo Durphy married Miss
Betsey Benedict of Walton in the Town of Walton on Dec. 18, 1845 by Rev. B.
M. Genung.
This was in the Dec. 24, 1845 issue of the Delaware Gazette.

In 1855 Census for Del. Co. there is only one Durphy and that is William,
age 19, living in Stamford with the Elijah Canfield family. Said he was a
laborer and attending school.

Checked the Stamford Cemetery book and came up with:
Betsey Durfey (no birth or death information) but states she was the wife of
Lawwrence Shaw.
Also mentioned was Julia E., daughter of Lawrence and Betsey having died
Sep. 29, 1849.

Durfey is an unusual name so must be some kind of connection.

In the "Biographical Review" it shows that Henrietta Durfey married William
Seeley. They lived in the Town of Walton.

Most of this info isn't what you were looking for, but might be connected in
some way.

Linda
