I have not actually researched the ELLIS family, but do have a bit of info
on Noah ELLIS.
From the War of 1812 Pension Application of Joshua WHITE, it states
that Joshua White and Elizabeth Morse were married in Sept 1811 at Red
Kill, Delaware Co., NY, by Noah ELLIS, Justice of the Peace.
I also know that Ezekiel and Charlotte (WHITE) GRIFFIN moved to Delaware
Co., from Dutchess Co., NY. Charlotte WHITE's mother was Tabitha ELLIS, dau
of Jacob and Elizabeth (FOSTER) ELLIS. I have wondered if there was a
connection of Noah ELLIS to this Tabitha ELLIS. The father of Jacob ELLIS,
above, was Manoah Ellis, Jr. Perhaps the use of Noah is just a shortened
form
of the name.
Hope that this is of some help.......Dorothy Holgate
