One easy thing to do is to check the 1880 census at:

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp

for all the Fisher people in Delaware County.

Unfortunately, you'll find that Albert is apparently trying to pretend he's
18, and working in an apparently unrelated household. Equally
unfortunately, Elmer D. is also out on his own, but surprisingly, he's not
Elmer D, but D. Elmer.

There's a lot of Fishers in Delaware County in 1880 to look at.
