The Navy records were not affected by the fire and are available from NARA.

About 80% of the records of Army personnel discharged between November 1,
1912 and January 1, 1960 and 75% of those of Air Force personnel discharged
between September 25, 1947 and January 1, 1964 (with names alphabetically
after Hubbard, James E.) were destroyed. For more information on the fire,

I did not know that WW1 & WW11 Army Records were destroyed in a fire. What

about Navy records. Are they obtainable from NARA? Marge
