I recently discovered that Cooperstown has a New York State Historical Association, located not far from the Farmers Museum. You can find a list of their holdings on-line at nysha.org, click on Research Library then onto the Local History Bibliography for the four counties. They seem to have quite alot of Delaware County info, census and newspapers, etc. I spotted a 1813 Medical Diploma for Luther Appley of Hancock in the list. I think they also have that elusive 1892 census.
It appears that it would be better to go there for the 9$ per day fee, as they charge 35$ an hour to do the research.
Note I think I must have turned my links thingy off, so you will have to type in the address or whatever. evelyn
