Dear Barbara,

Do you mean Delaware County and not Delware? Are you related to John Bell from Davenport, NY? I have a copy of his will dated July 23, 1908. His bequests included his niece, Isabella Bell, whom he wished to support (were her parents deceased at the time he wrote his will?. He also left $500 to Lizzie Douglass, widow of Thomas Douglass, plus a gilt frame and picture of him with Mrs. M.C. Bell, and his parlor suit and the furniture in his parlor. However, it appears that he was very close to my grandfather, James Douglass and his twin, William, sons of Joseph and Mary Campbell Douglass because they were the executors of his estate. I do not think John married, because there was no mention of a wife, but vast wealth. He also gave money to ministries in Egypt and India. He mentions the following people as well: George McMurdy, Sarah Hoag, Mary McClelland, Agnes and John J. McArthur, Mary E. Douglass, his niece, Isbella Harkness, Carlyle McMurdy (Carlyle was my dad's first name)!
, Sarah McMurdy, Henry Leal, Wilbur,Maud and Jessie Stuart (Kelso) whom I corresponded with in the 1970's, his brother, Samuel, Ethel Douglass Terry, my father's aunt and other people. Does any of this sound familiar?

I truly hope you see this e-mail. I am 57 years old (born in 1950) and this is the first time my cousin Michael Douglass (son of Earl)age 67 and I have had to investigate the family tree. I also have collected a great deal of scattered information over the last 40 years that I am just unearthing.

Georgia Douglass Dickinson
