I was born there at 9 am on a Thursday, Dec 3, 1942. According to my mother --- Margaret Odell Cook --- there was a heavy snow that day and the car got stuck on the way to the hospital from where they lived on High St. (I think) and they had to call my uncle, Al Vining, to come over from Margaretville to pull the car out with his truck. Couldn't they find anyone in town to help? Anyway, that's the story, as I recall hearing it. My father --- George, Sr.--- was the short-order cook at the Delhi Diner.
