Gary, I was weeding through some old emails and read yours. I don't think I
ever wrote to you, but I was wondering if you ever found out which county
in
Ireland your Thomas O'Connor came from? We had an ancestor that came
to Delaware County, NY from County Armagh in Northern IReland,
about the same time and I am still trying to find out which ship he came
on
and from what port. Galway is quite a ways from Armagh, but not
impossible.
How were you able to determine on which boat he sailed? Did the records
show
where he disembarked....at which port?

I keep looking and would appreciate any tips you may have to pass along.

Thanks, Carolyn Stinson Nichols

Thomas O'Connor b. ireland abt. 1814 ,arrived NYC 6-16-1834, age 22 aboard
the Brig Eagle from port of Galway. m. a Julia Boughton (Bouton) from
Flieschmans (Griffins Corners NY) , abt. 1840.
Listed on the 1860 Census as a gardener from Stratford Ct.

That's what I have, what I want is his home town and parents? Anyone?

Thanks, Gary
